novo 7 advance in depth review of video and wifi issue

PROS
=====
+ all the useful ports like HDMI, USB hosting, expandable microSDHC
+ plays all video format like AVI, VOB, MKV at 1080p
+ thin bezel, lightweight. about 7 quarters stacked together thick.
+ easy to root
+ cheap at $140

CONS
=====
- audio not sync with video. i have tried all fw from 1.6 to 2.0
- terrible screen viewing angle. not easily seen at 30 degree angles or more.
- wifi range is awful.
- force close sometimes. not sure if this is android or the terrible firmware, even at 2.0

SUMMARY
========
i bought it from Merimobiles.com. and gave it a 2 out of 5 stars. they didnt publish my review! i suspect the current 4/5 stars you see from their site is bogus. i am sure others feel this is not worth $140 as of December 2nd, 2011. because wifi is awful, youtube video does not load fast enough. i am returning this item.

i checked my Novo 7 speed today. i have got 5000Kbps! speed what i buy from my Isp is 5Mbps. fw is 1.8? i do not see any problem with viewing angle? i do not have any delay in video sound? you missed something or have hw failure.

@mpozega wifi works fine. however, it is poor at very long range. other devices in my house work fine extremely far away from the router.

Your video delay is likely due to low class speed of your SD card. Class 6 would give you better result OR you can try format the SD with Novo7A which may help.

my microSDHC is 16gb class 10. the delay is very obvious both inside the Novo memory and outside via my memory card.

Ive seen a few videos, and it seems you are the only one that is having all these issues...Do you think it's your particular model, or batch that is having these problems?? I was thinking of getting this but now due to your video I might have to reconsider...hmmm

For wifi, you can try 1.8B2/2.0T, may give you better result. You can try add these lines into build.prop which may help.
