Chicago Tonight (WTTW April 11, 2011) reports on Internet Tax laws (Affiliate Nexus Tax in Illinois) passed in Illinois March 2011 that are forcing internet businesses to move to other states. FatWallet.com moves company to Wisconsin in a record 30 days, almost as fast as the Illinois legislators rushed this lame-duck bill through its house and senate in a record 30 hours. Main Street Fairness will need to go to the federal level to begin to approach any level of fairness for businesses and consumers alike.
I pray to god the PMA will get through with their lawsuit. This bill does nothing but indiscriminately destroy opportunity to increase small business commerce.
