  • First, you put your two knees close up tight

And then you swing them to the left, you swing them to the right

Step around the floor kind of nice and light

And then you twist around and twist around with all of your might.

Stretch your loving arms way out in space

And then you do the Eagle Rock with the style and grace

Swing your right foot round, bring it back

That's what I call ballin' the jack.

  • @SeerSucker1981 The componist of Ballin' the jack is Chris Smith I believe

  • @drummerlead the song is from 1913....the first dixieland recording was 1917. I believe the song was introduced by Eddie Cantor originally. It is synonymous with his song list.

  • My mother did a solo sing/dance in a recital when she was 5, 1960!

  • I wuv annette!

  • My little couz had a dance recital and she danced to this

  • Whoa, "Ballin'" must have had a different meaning back then.

  • Oh yeah, i love this kind of songs!!!! Freaking awesome! unlike today :>

  • I know! i wish i could find a full recording of it!

  • in a show i did with my theater group, i got to sing this song with 2 other girls! it was fun:)
