The authoritative Islamic Encyclopedia (London, 1922) defines "hudna" (هدنة) as a "temporary treaty" which can be approved or abrogated by Islamic religious leaders, depending on whether or not it serves the interests of Islam. The Islamic Encyclopedia mentions the Hudaybia treaty as the ultimate "hudna." Arafat also referred to a hudna in his speeches when he would refer to the Oslo accords. In the words of the Islamic encyclopedia, "The Hudaybia treaty, concluded by the Prophet Muhammed with the unbelievers of Mecca in 628, provided a precedent for subsequent treaties which the Prophet's successors made with non-Muslims. Muhammed made a hudna with a tribe of Jews back then to give him time to grow his forces, then broke the treaty and wiped them out.

Absent from this section are many important facts, amongst which is the Zionist terrorism leading up to the partition plan and the 1948 war, i.e., the King David Hotel bombing. Also missing is the fact that Israel attacked first in 1967 in what they called a "preemptive attack" on Egypt, rather he gives a very deceiving statement..."In 1967 the Arabs once again prepared for war". By saying "once again", he suggests that they did the same thing as was the case in 1948.

@GidonRicardo : I don't understand why conquerors complain about being conquered. That's the rule of the game. Israel is now a fact and there is no going back. The same way that arabs cannot be removed from north africa. Good luck to Israel - a tiny beacon in a sea of darkness....

Israeli arabs live better then ANY arab in iran, iraq, afganistan, egypt, Jorden... etc etc...
