Tempo (32X)

Funky as you wanna be.

I dunno. Remember when I used to upload videos of weird/rare games? I sort of ran out of games to upload. Until I rediscovered Tempo, and I was like "oh yeaaaaah, Tempo. That's a game."

Tempo is sort of a bizarre and surreal platformer for the 32X. It got a Japan-only sequel for the Sega Saturn called Super Tempo. The game has really, really good animation for a game of its era, and I get the impression it's sort of the Japanese equivalent to Earthworm Jim; just really weird and kind of stupid.

If I had to guess, Tempo is some kind of rock star and the whole game is like one big music video or something. That's how it feels to me, anyway. Very musically themed.

the sprites were apparently hand drawn, which would explain why they're so wonderful looking.

I love how on the spine, they just copied and pasted the logo without removing the cloud background, too.
