I'm in the minority, but I think Garry is funnier than ever. Since he doesn't have a network show, any show, he just doesn't give a crap and just lets his natural wit go wherever it wants.

@DukeRules04 You're wrong, there are few laughs without Larry, most of the show is predicated on the interplay between the main three characters. Seeing as how Garry was the main creative force behind everything on the show, perhaps he knew how great Rip and Jefferey were and tailored his character after their reactions?

Ricky had to be in control because the interview and entire show IS CONTROLLED by him. It's his show. You'd think it'd be common courtesy to not be a dick to some guy making a show based on the fact he idolizes you. Gary Shandling is somewhat funny..The Larry Sanders show was amazing mainly because of everyone in the cast besides Larry(Gary), seriously watch the series and I guarantee your laughs by Hank and Artie will be at least 7x what you get from Gary doing his bits.

Garry's having a lot of fun here. For instance, he gets Conan to admit that it isn't actually Friday (most late night shows shoot their Friday programs earlier in the week.) Also, on a lot of Larry Sanders episodes, saying that a crowd was "hot" was another way of saying that they sucked. Hmm...

I don't think that Ricky and Garry interview was a bit. Ricky is a mean dick where Garry is a kind dick. When Garry calls you ugly you laugh. When Ricky calls you ugly you are. I lost a little respect for Ricky in that interview. Why bring up the Jewish thing? Conan knew to just sit back and enjoy Garry. Ricky had to be in control.

I don't think most people know that the interview with Ricky Gervais was supposed to be a joke between the two of them... A testament to both of them and their brilliant awkward humor.

I'll admit I didn't know who Garry was until I heard about that interview with Ricky Gervais and although he was a huge dick to Gervais, he's hilarious here.
