Oh My God....this is a riot!!

@derry667dingo it's a parody sketch from 1999 from 'Doctor Who Night' which aired in September 1999. It stars David Walliams and Mark Gatiss (who also writes for Doctor Who and Sherlock and played Dr. Lazarus in Series 29 "The Lazarus Experiment")

Cute. Where is this taken from? And do you know who the other guys in are? Just curious.

It was a good clip, but To me it seemed to be a bit of a mockery of the doctor.

@GoldenTalesGeek I agree completely with you on the costume front (although I personally like a little eccentricity in his dress, Davisons costume being my particular favourite) but can never hold with his ill judged decisionto make the Doctor have a northern accent!! How insulting to previous incumbants of the role to brand them all 'snobs' as he did!! A mancunian from Gallifrey is ludicrous and that is why he is not held in such high regard. An excellent actor but a shit Doctor

@kamelion7 You have to bear in mind that when Doctor Who returned to TV in 2005, there was a whole generation of young people who probably had never seen it before. They probably decided to tone down his quirky dress sense because of that.
If they had decided to go for completely tasteless like Colin Baker's outfit, it probably would've been a bit difficult for them to take the program seriously. Plus, he was a broken man due to the events of the Time War, and the leather coat helps sell that.

@GoldenTalesGeek Yet he was prepared to wear ridiculously oversizedloon pants as the Duke of Norfolk in 'Elizabeth' as that was what the part required. He should have bowed to the Doctors quikier dress sense and not insisted he be dressed as any bloke down the street....

Well well - looks like all of us who thought "wow - he'd be great as the next Doctor" were really way off! Must remind myself, it's a kids show.. although I'm not sure even kids will look up to someone who seems the age of a sixth former.. sorry Matt, you're just too young to look like a Time Lord in my humble opinion.
Meanwhile Moffat & Gatiss made Cumberbatch's Sherlock so like a Who with his fast, verbose monologues that I actually keep waiting for the TARDIS to appear!
He should be the next doctor on the basis of this clip alone.
