It's one thing to require that people getting government assistance tolerate managed care, but the legislation limits you to a managed-care plan even if you and your employer are footing the bill (Senate bill, p. 57-58). The goal is to reduce everyone's consumption of health care and to ensure that people have the same health-care experience, regardless of ability to pay.

The health bills now before Congress would force you to switch to a managed-care
2 main bills in Congress with the goal of combining them into a finished product by August. Under either, Govt will select health plans that it considers in your best interest, and you will have to enroll in one of these "qualified plans." If you now get your plan through work, your employer has a five-year "grace period" to switch you into a qualified plan. If you buy your own insurance, you'll have less time.

The basic difference between the two camps is that one thinks that health care its a human right. The other thinks it should only be available to the extent that is can be profitable. And the companies profiting dictate what tests and treatments doctors can prescribe. The INSURANCE COMPANIES decide if the DOCTOR is right. And people defend that. Worse....people don't want anyone to have another option. There can only be one option for everyone: Your healthcare is dictated by a huge corporation.

There is no other industrialized country that doesn't cover all its citizens. If anyone has a loved one who has lost health care or died because of lack of health care, they know how hideous this is. Why do people have to die for rich people to get even richer? My daughter who is a cancer survivor can't get health care because of a pre existing condition. What will happen to her??? and all the others this has happened to???

People who are fortunate to have great coverage (like me), might want the option of moving to a government plan for a number of reasons. For instance, I would like to have the option of working for a small Mom and Pop business or starting my own business. Mom and Pops can't effectively compete for employees with huge corporations, because they can't afford the medical coverage. People with families have a difficult time leaving the huge corporations, because of this.

Everyone keeps saying that the insurance offered by the government will be too poorly run to want.
So....DON'T GET IT. No one will be forced to take it.
But why deny it to other people who have something that is so bad (like no coverage at all) that they DO want it?

The real truth is....some people have no insurance at all. They lack the human right of getting the medical attention they need. However....even if you don't give a damn about that, they also buden everyone else with their medical costs by seeking care after its too late to treat their disease, and by obtaining care in an ER. The most expensive way to practice medicine.

I think this video is fabulous and tells the truth EXACTLY how it is. People are dying every day and for profit health insurance is only interested in profit, not taking care of people.

this is a bussed in group hired by republicans to lie and cause problems readd the bill for the truth but I will say well if the 47 million who don't have it half out of work with time on hands don't want it and don't want to fight for it picketing against the bussed in group the republicans hired to picket screw them i have health care so i have nothing else good bad or otherwise to say until they start fighting for it
