LOL at the thought of the Obama girls going to a public school. Do you have any ideal how much harder it would be for the secret service...not to mention all the other kids at the public school.

Everytime I hear someone calling Obama a hypocrite for this, I shudder at the stupidity.

Thats a really ignorant comment, or shall I say not well examined. These are not normal students anymore, as I parent if I were in their position, I would've put my children too. Stop politicizing the children, for my childrens safety, well being, and comfort I would've done the same. It is unfair to subject those girls to a public school where they would be hassled by the media on top of the other students. Dealing with other children and swithching school is already difficult enough.

I agree. I'm not American, but I moved here and I attend a public school. In my country I used to attend a private school-- and although my school here in the US ranks among the best in the state, I'm not leaning much of anything. What kind of AP course shows 'The Magic School Bus' as part of the curriculum?.

I will never understand how the US is such a huge,rich country and at the same time they have all these people who are not getting a decent education and basic knowledge about the world.

This is a school for the "rich" kids...why would any rich kid go to a public school? Many public schools are shitty, and all the rich, including any and all the presedents, know this! There is a bigger picture here than just security, this is saying alot about our failed public school systems in America.

Well, LastTrueLiberal had a point, but I don't think Obama can be called a hypocryte for sending the kids to elite school. the reality is different in the upper tax bracket of society. some people in the lower end just don't get it.
