Life of Saint Josephine Bakhita
Born in Olgossa (Darfur, Sudan) around 1869, St. Bakhita was kidnapped as a child, sold and resold as a slave to different masters. However God guided her in a wonderful way to her baptism and eventually to the religious life in the institute of the Daughters of Charity, founded by St. Magdalene of Canossa, in Italy. Simple, humble and loving, she witnessed charity to a heroic degree in her daily life.
She died in Schio (Vicenzq) on Feb 8, 1947, and canonized on Oct 1, 2000.
St. Bakhita has become a symbol of freedom and reconciliation and is the patron saint of Africa.
Duration: 80 min
A Kronovision production by Pino Aldovrandi and Marco Fabbrini.
