Who cares about John Lennon? Brian Wilson was the greatest composer of his era, and possibly of the last century.

the music is just the whole song twice, this version is a lot more intimate than the album version, but that's because it wasn't mixed at all. It sounds so stripped down because this was just a live demo. All live instrumentation and vocals. The album version just cut the beginning, pushed back certain sounds, added a theremin, and changed the equalizer for every instrument. The best thing is is that Carl mixed it so you can see what he liked more.

Wow, I'd never heard that before, thanks for uploading this, it's one of the most intense songs I've ever heard in my life!

@planetraptor420 Because everyone over the age of 21 nowadays is a "Creeper". The little girlz that listen to Justin Bieber wouldn't be a fan of creepers.

@ilsy74 According to Brian, the boys DIDN'T like it...."Mike laughed out of disgust. What a f$#&^*g downer! he said. Carl and Al agreed. Crushed by the rejection, I walked out of the studio knowing the song was good but that I was unable to defend myself. Several days later, I went into the studio by myself and recorded "Till I Die" anyway. Eventually, out of respect, but mostly because they needed material, the song was included on the album." - Brian Wilson (The album was 1971's Surf's Up)

@Mr11MUSICMAN : I think this is a great song. I also believe that Justin Bieber sucks.

why have i only just discovered this... too much listening to music and not enough reading research... wow I am really learning my lesson now! And why do I always read comments saying "I'm only 14" etc?... When I was 14 I thought I was old!... And I was shrugging off mainstream pop when I was 8 so there!! :p

THIS IS SO MY STORY
The word I have on this piece is that Stephen Desper, the sound engineer, created this wondrous lead-in, under Brian's instruction, guidance & steerage. It really is one of the most magical, magnificent openings to any Wislon song which I think I've ever heard .. & that is certainly saying something. The fact that the rest of the Boys didn't like it is utterly irrelevant. This is listening MAGIC !!

@colindominy I think that may be a long bow, to say the boys didnt like it. Correct me if i am wrong, but my theory is that it did not make the album because the record compnay wanted to make the album as commercial as poosible, given this was a lull period in their popularity. Whatever the case may be, the engineer is responsible for a large part of music (especially today) and therefore if this was not the "original verision" it certainly should have been .
