  • This is amazing

  • She is a legend in her own right. The most brilliant and beautiful dance that grace this planet. The power of Yamami is compare to no other. She is the total package of dance. When Yamani performs she leaves you dancing.

  • the way she dance that thillana just moves me!....

  • can see her style clearly in rama vaidyanathans dance. very poised. :) thanks for the post.

  • This is my teacher Padmabhushan Dr.Yamini , Ive had the privilege to learn this same for from her. She is fantastic teacher its a blessing to learn an art form from her.

  • Here, she is perhaps in her early fifties but still is the picture of grace. I saw her in her prime and that performance shall always remain etched in my mind as a divine experience. Young Yamini was nothing short of the very force of nature itself.

  • Yamini Krishnamurthy is the best dancer I have ever seen. She is just beyond words.

  • i want to learn this dance!!!

  • beautiful ---

  • Hi lovelylife19, as far as I know Yamini's first training was in bharatanatyam. She began studying in Kalakshetra but soon her father realized that kalak. style and training pattern was not for her. Yes, her araimandi is not that deep but who cares....her dance "flows"....and she's neat even in the maximum speed. But don't think that in Kuchipudi araimandi isn't there. It actually is! However that quicksilver style with all those jumps might not make it so clear.
