  • dude ur bird sounds hella clean n beasty i got a 86 with a 305 and im thinking of doing the tpi swap too how much does it cost roughly?

  • TPI swap can cost as little as $500 to as much as $1500, depending on where you get the parts and how much you can do, without having a shop do it.

Personally, I would swap to EFI and use a Holley Stealthram, like I have on my 88 Formula.

  • 305 tpi swap or a 350 tpi swap? and how did you modify the exhaust? btw sounds sick

  • Engine was a carbed 305 and I slapped some 87 305tpi heads on it along with the TPI setup, a large crane cam, and pacesetter catback.

  • Wat did you do to the engine to make it sound like that? Is it an atomatic or manual trans?

  • I put a big cam into the motor, and put some headers and full exhaust. Car is a 5 speed in the video.

  • Ah classic Zepher. I remember watching this video all the time back in 2004. I miss that car. It always had a different set of wheels or hood or wing or ground effects every week.

  • Damn. What has that cam done for you as far as fuel mileage? If it's not all that detrimental, then I know exactly what I want to look into for my Camaro. That thing sounds mean as hell.

  • @1987TransAmws6 those are 4th gen rims from a ws6 trans am. i know for a fact you have to have spacers on the front and rear. if you have a 4th gen rear on your third gen then you dont have to have spacers

  • did those rims go on without doing anything id like to get a set.

  • I wish I did that when I had my old 305, I also had an 86. I was having problems with the motor shutting down while driving and got discouraged. I sold it, and got a 97 Firebird that had the 3800 series II in it. The 3800 was nice on the low end, but it seemed to lag when punching it on the freeway. In other words, the response was absent on the high end. I miss my V-8 cars...

  • i hate to ask somethin i'm sure you've answered a hundred times already but how much horsepower does it put out and what brand exhaust are you running? it sounds sweet.

  • @RrMurph18 i know, just like my dads 502 velle, he keeps wanting to get it painted but itll cost and for the money i could build me a nice 3rd gen, but i like how good they look without the perfect pain i mean you see so many show cars it gets old almost

  • you dont happen to have to part # for the cam do you?

  • Im naab with cars but i got a 86 trans am in great shape with a 305.what kind of motor did you put in yours because i cant back my tire unless i rev it up and throw it into gear lol.i have flowmaster exaust with no catalitic converter so it sounds good.would headers make it sound any better and would the exaust have to be redone?

  • very nice, r those 91-92 camaro ground effects? now u just need that new spoiler from the 4gen trans am and that would be one sick looking car, check it out on hawksthirdgen i wanted on for mine but i just bought a whole new car haha
