As an AOD Counsellor I can say this song is sadly reflecting a real situation many of the addicts I see currently find themselves in - More than 50% are 3rd generation addicts...a very difficult history to break free from

@hollyhammer13 .. no addiction is self made no one put a gun to ur head and made u use and untill that choice stops becoming a choice is when ur addicted but still u use because it works and you like to be high .. and then after a period of sobriety it becomes a choice again... this disease is cunning baffling and powerful.. but i do agree in one aspect and that is no one wakes up one day and says to them self i think im going to be and alcoholic today

Adicctions not self made? I believe your the one that isn't educated. You don't know much about addiction or you haven't taken the time to research it. It quite insulting.

@1563fuchs - In the song the older brother started to use drug, the younger sister mimic him - and then passed away. The world blamed the drugs, but the brother also carries some of the burden. The purpose of the song was to show how addiciton affects not just the addict. Didn't write it to start an arguement,.just to tell a story.
