There is LOTS of things that are wrong here.... but don't judge by the sick dog mentioned in the end. I'm volunteering at a rescue center here in Mexico (but I'm Swedish) and I've seen lots of dogs like that dog, dogs that have gotten 100% cured with nothing but a couple of shots. If the dog got sick under this particular shelter's care - then it could be bad. But if they took it in from the street looking like that then perhaps they were only trying to help.

I find incredible that a fhysician is worried about ticks transmitting leishmania. He doesn't says how many human are infected in Spain. He is very much worried, but I don't remember anyone with leishmania... really strange, isn't it?

When the dog has a treated and controlled leishmania, he can't transmit it. And it isn't so espensive as they insinuates.

And keeping dogs in a car because you "don't have time" isn't allowed in Spain, it is illegal.

Tanto en Asturias, donde resido, como en el resto de España, existen multitud de organizaciones de defensa y protección de animales abandonados, siempre necesitadas de recursos materiales y humanos, pero no por ello se dedican a traficar con los animales que acogen, como hace esta ciudadana sueca.

Eso sin tener en cuenta que a muchos españoles entre los que me incluyo, que no todos, por desgracia, les parece una conducta reprochable e inmoral mantener animales en estas condiciones.

Gracias por la realización de este reportaje, en este país ya tenemos demasiados maltratadores, no necesitamos que nos vengan a "AYUDAR" personas de este catadura moral.

Soy española, vivo en Asturias una región situada al norte de España, esta "señora" de nacionalidad sueca que vive en Almuñecar ante una afirmación de la persona que hace el reportaje: ¿Sabes que esto es Suecia es ilegal? responde "Si, pero estamos en España" y se ríe. Bien, para todo aquel al que pueda interesar, esto en España también es ilegal, se considera maltrato animal y está recogido en el Código Penal.

If this is true, it's terrible and Julie rescue should be punished, but you have to know that there are a lot of shelters and people who work for and care the animals they rescue. Please, don't believe that everybody in Spain is like that, many people do a great job saving animals and taking care of them.

And, unfortunately, there are many, many dogs and cats, mostly, that need a home. They don't deserve to be the ones to blame for the acts that people like the ones from Julie Rescue do.

algo sensacionalista el tono del reportaje pero si es cierto que esta persona ni es apta para el trabajo que pretende hacer y hay un negocio atrás bastante sucio. España no es el pais atrasado y poco amante de los animales que comenta el bastante poco informado reportero. Son muchas las asociaciones en defensa de derechos de animales que funcionan dentro de la legalidad, con poquísimos recursos y con voluntarios entregadisimos. por favor, un poquito de respeto....

All that is what I am surprised of! Spain is a burocratic country...the rabbies tests results can take up to 2 months! add that to the 4 months to wait before being possible taking the bood samples.....It is just not possible! how to have ready 22 dogs in one month?, unless all of them had the rabbies shot on the same date, I just can´t make the numbers...
