Great stuff, thanks for sharing. 1:44-1:45 is great time for 888s and stock. If you haven't already, try the Hankook C71s ... still a DOT tire but cheap. The only downside is braking suffers because of the tire diameter difference in the front and more narrow tire for 16/17 combo. Not as good as Hoosier A6, but Hankook C71 is not a bad tire for the price.
