Look at the ASRock H55M-USB3 R2.0 motherboard and other parts I am using for the build. This is a good board. It's working great so far. The BIOS is very well set up as well. Easy to navigate and great BIOS for overclocking and changing any setting you want. You can also share OC profiles and save them. These are not quite as nice as Gigabyte boards but very close and just as many features. I may use more in the future. Very good experience with this one!

The Intel Core i3-550 has Intel HD graphics built into the chip. It's a dual core CPU and will do a good job for most people. Not for heavy gaming but most anything else it will be fine.

The Crucial memory I am using is DDR3 1333 (PC 10600) 1.5V. I used a 4GB stick so the system could be upgraded in the future with 4 more GB or even just 2GB.

The Antec PSU I used is a 80+ Bronze certified PSU and is well built. It's recommended by people I trust. They all say it has quality parts inside.

This is a good system for the home user who needs a system for under 600-700 dollars. It is high quality and should last for years.

  • Only one stick of RAM? You should always use two sticks or you won't be running in dual channel and only get half the performance.

  • @tux9656 This is a good point I failed to mention. Thanks.

  • does HDMI out support hidef audio/video both?

  • @sharik4ever Yes it does. Search "HDMI interface" and read all about it.

  • built the same system on i3-550 and asrock h55m/usb3 a few month ago and plugged gygabyte radeon 6850 recently. Cheap and fast pc as a result, all games on ultra settings with 1280x1024

  • @monkeyboy991000 Newegg and search for latest price.

  • @nate42nd where did you buy and how much was it

  • @peter4076 Yea, these brands like Asrock and MSI are really competing with the larger companies now. They have good boards. It will be interesting to see if they last as long. I think they will. Like most other electronics there are less and less "bad" ones being made.

  • Have always used Asus & Gigabyte, but last year built two computers for friends low budget Asrock & MSi but working a treat in fact two satisfied friends.

  • good work and nice price hardware ... :)
