The following rock sample was discovered recentley in a creek in Southern BC with a metal detector. I am putting it online to try and determine if it is Platinum of some or ore like Silver or perhaps somethign else. I suppose an assay would be the best way to learn the truth of this find but I thought I would share it with the world first just to see what you think.

  • Thanks ok the assay will tell the truth.

  • I hope it is platinum or silver, but it also looks kind of similar to pyrite.

And wtf is with that Kim person. Freakin wackos on youtube.

  • Well we know its not pyrite. I will be having a piece assayed. Yeah I know to many wackos on youtube.

  • And what makes it so fantastic if it's PGE, the. The Tul/Stil area and a lot of the rest of the province is full of it, it's not so "AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING" genius.

  • Threating someones life is not cool man. I will make sure the world sees that youtube letter you sent me.

  • You're smoking too much weed, I didn't threaten anyones life, I have more important things to do than waste time with people with delusions of grandeur.

  • Then why are you commenting again? Go back under the rock which you crawled out of!

  • Not Platinum... I can see the non platinum crystals from here...

  • Interested what the ruling was??? Leave it in direct sun and see if it tarnishes to rule out silver!

  • @Crom2000 That is not platinum it is pyrite.

  • just sink in in hydrogen peroxide and see if it bubbles. do it twice,.

  • Hey man MM here interesting rock send me the details of where it came from I will check my records on PT occurrences. I am thinking Galena but then the black matrix rock is interesting, my coarser pt nuggies from my claim have a black matrix attached to them.

  • hi There crom2000...You could order a platinum testing solution..from goldfeverprospectingdotcom and search for a soltuion..I would specualate that it is hydrogen peroxide..Platinum ia catalyst that will cause a reaction to make oxygen..so it bubbles...I think they sell it for 7.95..

  • @ Kim.... Troll under your own bridge comment hound !

  • digplayer is right. Platinum rarely occurs larger than a grain and usually occurs as a byproduct of gold mining. The host rock looked very hard. Native silver is more rare than gold. In Silverton native silver occurs in a brecciated (broken) quarzite, uneconomical and rare. My wild guess would be bimismouth.

  • @Crom2000 Any luck on an assay yet. You got me curious. I'm hoping it comes out great for you. Every man deserves at least one really good find in life. OK, more than one. Good luck.

  • hey kim go take your pills and fuck with someone in real life and stop hiding behind your computer. lets see how far you get then !!
