Mark Wells is a talented singer/songwriter from Newcastle, Australia. His emphasis on writing memorable tunes and delivering energetic performances has earned him a swag of awards, radio airplay and a legion of dedicated supporters.

Grounded in rock, but fluent in pop and country, the versatile musician is riding a wave of success after winning the Songwriters Prize at the Telstra Road to Tamworth, which earned him a trip to the US to meet and work with music industry heavyweights as part of his prize.

And his ability to write memorable tunes is starting to make waves in the charts. His song Big Skies co-written with good friend, Morgan Evans, reached the ARIA Australian Top 50 and received high rotation on commercial radio in 2007-8.

As a performer, Mark is no stranger to the touring and playing live. He has performed centre stage at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, appeared on bills with Shihad, Evermore and The Whitlams, and toured the length and breadth of Australia as frontman of the now disbanded rock group, Supersonic.

Mark has also been recognized for his vocal talents, and was named as Best Male Vocalist in 2007 at the ABC Music Awards in Newcastle.

But while the last twelve months were fruitful for Wells, the next twelve months appear to be even more exciting.

Wells will release his debut rock album, Until the End in October, the result of a year-long labour of love, and an EP of 6 country tracks is planned for release in early 2009.

With tour dates planned for the back half of 2008 and 2009, Mark is ready to take his energetic show on the road. Keep an eye out for upcoming shows at a venue near you
