I heard this song yesterday on the local college radio station. The descending piano chords on the chorus are VERY beautiful, almost Beatlesque. They juxtapose the rough, yet oddly soulful quality of her voice. I think she's a soul singer, with a ragged Billie Holiday quality and real cool timing with her phrasing. Heartbreaking, and, at the same time, somehow, hopeful. Very evocative. I'm a new fan...
