Addison forgave Derek for his affair with Meredith, but doesn't realize that they are still together. When Meredith finds out that she's pregnant, she decides she has to leave Seattle Grace and move to Los Angeles. When her daughter is older, she comes back to Seattle. Derek sees her and her daughter and realizes what happened. After some hesitation and uncertainty, he and Addison get divorced and he returns to Meredith and their daughter.
