I've had that happen to me, but I was standing thigh deep in a river. Kinda wigged me out for a second, the pike just came outta nowhere and it was close too!

I'm surprised this has happened so many times. Fishing in a creek, I was reeling in a perch and a jackfish (chain pickerel) snatched it as I was bringing it up. It would have made two fishes in this video so you can imagine...

dude, i also ended up with a shredded largemouth this summer from a monster pike
fortunately, I got em both in the boat (if 1/2 a dead fish counts)!!!!!!!!!
