Long-ish and somewhat odd program on aero physiology by the California Academy of Sciences.

Kinescope of Fifties science TV program featuring discussions and demonstrations. This episode is dedicated to the study of the effects of space travel on human physiology.

  • @thesixtiesguy Know u will like this: In the late 70s worked as a student aid at Santa Ana College Tessmann Planetarium and heard from the Engineering Dept Gen (ret) Yeager was going to give a talk. Heard his talk & got his autograph twice; I asked him if he could sign the pics & he said yes & he said of the X-1 "this is me flying the X-1 & u want me to sign that too? Very nice gentleman! Still have the pics! The pics were in a mag I had rec from Edwards AF Base.

  • read hi bio.."YEAGER".............its kick-ass!

  • totally cool. I love 'Major' Yeager.. hee-hee. Chuck is still the greatest pilot ever!!

  • WOW. Chuck Yeager. Now General Chuck Yeager Retired. This guy was my childhood hero. I'll always remember that scene in "The Right Stuff" after Colonel Yeager takes that experimental F-104 past 105,000 feet. he crashes and no one knows if he made it or not. You see Jack Riddley in an ambulance going out to look for Chuck. The driver says, "is that a man ?" . Riddley says, "you damn right it is". I would have loved to see Chuck on the moon. Your still one of my heroes Chuck.

  • Sincere apologies. Just me being an obnoxious, long-winded prick. I must have been in a trance, 'cause they day after I wrote that, it makes no sense to me whatsoever. :)

  • Such use of superfluous diction could bewilder the many users on YouTube. Perhaps you would fancy "dumbing it down" for people like me, a fine product of the public education system.

  • cool thanks AirBoyd

  • Of course '56 was 1956, not 1856, so a lot of this presentations content wound up holding true for the ensuing, not so salient leap into the early 60's space-age. Testimony I suppose that it doesn't have to be the brightest or the shiniest to prevail. Alas, I ramble again... =)
