  • What a wondrous time it was in America when our entertainment was based on an interesting story line and our magnificent heritage.

  • I think modern hollywood obsess about sex, , crime and violence. We have great shows like Sex in the City, Desperate housewives, Dirty sexy Money, Countless murder CSI shows, 24 hour news shows showing crap and hysteria for profit. Other than sports and a few channels like discovery, History, and PBS it's 95% crap and shows glamorizing destructive values

  • @audiophile55 This is what we do to bring the country back to a point that it was at 45-50 years ago: Slap huge tariffs on all imported goods so that people will only buy American. Rebuild so-called dirty industry including the car industry and the domestic electronics industry by penalizing companies that set up shop with cheap foreign labor. Ignore the raving deficit crowd by cranking up the money supply for new jobs AND industries to be created for Americans. Revive a new "gold standard".

  • @mikejackson4ever The proof must be in the watching. There must be many shows about hippies, people living in the 60s and Woodstock. I haven't heard about all of these shows, not having cable for several years. I'm going to have to get cable again to see all of these great shows. The only Woodstock I am familiar with now is the one on my Winchester carbine!

  • audiophile55 you are right that he was the one who hit George Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life." He was in many movies and a great character actor. His name was Stanley Andrews.

  • Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

  • @mrroper Stephen Talbot.

  • Yep - Death Valley Days was one of the longest running series - and all of the shows were based on true stories - especially these early shows - check me out for the whole story of the twenty mule team!

  • Who was "The Old Ranger"? Does anyone know? Isn't he the guy who hit George Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life"?
