Frontal Impact takes place at 64 Km/h, 40% of the width of the car striking a deformable barrier. In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 29km/h into a rigid pole.

in 1993 the punto was the safer group c car after opel corsa. This model is from 1993.... 17 yrs from now.

That was not so bad in that time (not worse than Golf 3) Fiat make one of the safest cars. Most of the newer Fiats have 4 or 5 EuroNCAP stars. Punto II was safest car in class for example. Grande Punto have 5 stars also.

but otherwise Punto is a good car, easy and cheap to fix, good to drive and my Fiat Punto S is approaching 250.000km and already survived several crashes like a vw-van crashing into my side just behind the door. still driving
