(Lyrics) 1. I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down,
Thy head upon My breast."
I came to Jesus as I was,
Weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting-place,
And He has made me glad.

2. I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one,
Stoop down and drink and live."
I came to Jesus, and I drank
Of that life-giving stream.
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
And now I live in Him.

3. I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"I am this dark world's Light.
Look unto Me; thy morn shall rise
And all thy day be bright."
I looked to Jesus, and I found
In Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that Light of Life I'll walk
Till traveling days are done.

  • I love this hymn. Number 482 in my hymnal. Also ''Led By The Spirit Of Our God'' which is heard on Ash Wednesday usually.

  • What a beautiful experience as I go to bed and pray!

    Please tell me the organ on which it was played.

    As jfbecks17 says" Ï definitely want this..at my funeral some day."

    Maybe I'll have to tape it. There are no pipe organs in my country town.

  • HOW CAN I OBTAIN THE LYRICS? THEY ARE NOT IN MY HYMN BOOK.

    CMW 9.11.11.

  • I definitely want this song sung at my funeral someday.

  • This is the hymn my Mother in law wanted sung at her funeral, sadly it wasnt .

  • This is so perfect for singing to! Great audio quality, and you are playing it so nicely.

  • Very, very beautiful. I would love to hear you play this on the Aolean in the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City.

    Thank you so much!
