Brazil Zico Soccer School at Great Wall Cup 2011

Zico Soccer School is not a professional soccer club. It's a School of Soccer; a social project idealized and developed by their great idol and one of Brazil's most famous sons - Zico. It provides the kids born and raised on some of the Brazilian poorest communities not only an opportunity to play by the guidance of Zico's methods and principles, but foremost the opportunity of social inclusion. The greatest goal of the project is not to develop professional players, but to prepare their kids to become men of good will and good faith.

The School attends more than 10.000 kids around the country. The team they are bringing to the tournament was set up a few months ago, with the best players selected from the social project based on the famous community called "Cidade de Deus". In English, the "City of God" became worldwide famous by the movie with the same name, a blockbuster in 2002.

Zico Soccer School is guided by the ethic principles that ruled the professional career of its mentor, the great Zico. They know that very few kids enrolled in the School will become professional football players. However, all kids are thought to be respectful and competitive at the same time; honoring the principles of good faith and good will. The school's greatest goal is to develop prepared men to a wild world up front.

The School has no association with any specific Brazilian league clubs or the Brazilian national team. Nevertheless, the most talented players are always introduced to tryouts on the professional league clubs.
