Doctors without Borders is a notable group that is secularist and will always remain so. I know for a fact they helped Japan and I'd put my money on them having helped in Katrina. I am sure non-secularist organizations accrue more money though from donations. Atheists have a strikingly low prison presence going in or out. I personally carry apples and oranges in my own car that I give to any homeless I cross paths with my urban routine.

Simplicity is a quality of God, as all forms necessarily reside in the single essence of the First Cause, including any complex forms.
-
You're explaining away the possibility that there doesn't need to be something that breaks natural law of irreducible complexity. To say there is an 'unmoved mover' is exactly that. A being with magic powers or even just basic logic is already something of great complexity, more than just mere matter. If it's a regression to anything it can only be the most basic of chemical and physical attributes. Your super universe creating first cause needs an explanation for their being.
-
There cannot exist an infinite regression of causes or motions that bring us to our current state of being and motion. Why? If there was such a regress, then we could never move through the unlimited regress to our current state, anymore than you can go to a donut store an unlimited distance away. There must be First Cause/Unmoved Mover. All material and energy is in motion, but the Unmoved Mover is motionless, and hence immaterial --- i.e. spiritual. That's a start ...

People become douchey for many reasons. Many religions are very much an enabler for it.

Nope.

@patientthomist Sure, buddy! Get to typing up your thesis.

It's a good thing for Matt and Don that Christ's mercy is infinite ... there's good reason to believe that they will be drawing on that mercy in the not too distant future. By the way, I can prove God exists by reason alone ... wanna learn how?

"Oh, but it's not just a cracker, it's Jesus!" And Christians call us atheists the crazy ones.
"Jesus goes great with cheese." Another awesome quote from the Great Matt Dillahunty. All praise be to Matt, our Lord lmao
