Ben Runkel, Percussion, with the Northern Illinois University Philharmonic conducted by Timothy Semanik on February 13th, 2008.
These are sections from James MacMillan's 30 minute, tour de force percussion concerto Veni, Veni, Emmanuel. It can be broken down into 8 sections and I have split it up into 5 for file size purpose. (2 of the "movements" are orchestral transitions and I combined the last two into one file)

ENJOY!

  • This and Macmillan's Confessions of Isobel Gowdie are amazing. I saw Colin Currie perform this in London a couple of years ago and was blown away.

  • This is such a brilliant piece! heard it with Evelyn Glennie and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra a couple of years ago and cried my eyes out! Thanx!

  • Great production on the video, too.

  • Ben I love watching you play.
