One day I searched for some pocessor-killing maps and from the
founded ones the winner was "Before Apophys" - by worros,
witch has a very detailed environment with a lot of vegetation and
particles. Unfortunately my system was unable to play this map
(along with the recording application), the fps falled to 3 many times,
and the medium was 6-10. My system?
The gpu, ram and power suply it's ok, the first and huge problem is my
old crappy processor, which is a single-core running on 2ghz, the second
problem is that the gpu (gts250) supports the pci-e v2.0, but the
motherboard supports only pci-e v1.0, so the data-transfer speed
is half between the two, (a real problem for the most bandwidth-hungry
games and 3d apps) aprox. 40% from the capacity of the gpu (is lost)
works for nothing. It's a waste of money and electric energy to use/get a
better gpu than gts250 (or gtx260 ? / ati similar) for this kind of systems.
