@deanlyst He is right. Jerusalem is also used to represent the UK, just like the EU the UK hasnt any "official"anthem. Tough God save the queen is always used to present them. Like Ode to joy is used to represent the European Union.

@Kanjilearner i'm sorry but all of them do, England and northern ireland = god save our noble queen. scotland = Oh flower of scotland, Wales = Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau. The UK itself uses god save the queen.

@ESCx2010xNorway The music for this was written in 1916, the song would probably have been put together after that, and in 1917 we captured Jerusalem. We then had the mandate of palestine. So at the time, all your jerusalem are belong to us.
