I clip I taped on TV of KID and PLAY on the Arsenio Hall show. When the New Jack Swing was new and in effect. I miss these days of old school rap and hip-hop of the 80's and 90's :(

REAL entertaining hip was a dime a dozen back then. What happened???

They were rapping/dancing/inter acting with the crowd......

@telj1 I agree.. the 90's were the last era of really good original music /styles from Grunge rock to The new Jack swing, to Rap and Rock to country. As a composer/musician I personally want to to being back that feeling of non-commercialized fluff we are bombarded with today. Ive got some projects im working on with my best GF and we totally want to take it back!

@mikieson you are tripping trying to put C&C Music Factory alongside those other hip hop acts... C&C was a techno pop group , not hip hop.

Kid N Play were always toy MCs...

With regard to Kane, it was the insanely high standards of hip hop at the time that he fell off so hard... looking back BDK didnt do anything all that bad with the Barry White song really.. that album was slept on by everyone, it was a classic.

I'll tell you what happened..THUG RAP happened..took the likes of KidNPlay,Hammer,Big Daddy Kane,C&Cmusic factory,..ect out and brought killing,drugs,thugs,womanizing lyrics ect into the mainstream..Hasnt gotten any better yet..and not looking like it will...
