@Rhovanion85 in Mambo you close your feet on 3 and 7 (left and right foot are both together) Mambo is more orderly/controlled it is more like a Ballroom feeling.
In Salsa you dont close your feet in the basic, the steps are more in a line and the feet in the basic never together. Its more like a hot, having fun feeling. You are more moving your upper body in salsa, than in mambo (if i am right Mambo is more concentrated on the hips?)
