Sunshine: Surface Of The Sun - John Murphy - Adagio in D Minor

From the 2007 Movie "Sunshine", one of my favorite movies of all time. When I heard this in the movie I was amazed by it and couldn't wait to get my hands on the Soundtrack. Fantastic Score I must say!!

Despite high praise for the score from many fans of the film, a soundtrack for the film was heavily delayed to be released, in part due to 'disputes' between the lawyers of Underworld and Fox Searchlight. Although not released close to the film's debut, a soundtrack was still widely expected to be eventually released, until the film's producer Andrew Macdonald stated in a fansite interview that the soundtrack was "stuck" and that there were "no plans to release" it. John Murphy's wife, Charlotte Murphy, provided the score along with John to fans who requested it through YouTube.

The soundtrack was finally released on iTunes USA on November 25, 2008.

Sunshine is a 2007 British science fiction film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland about the crew of a spacecraft on a dangerous mission to the Sun. In 2057, with the Earth in peril from the dying Sun, the crew is sent to reignite the Sun with a massive stellar bomb, a nuclear device with the equivalent mass of Manhattan Island. The crew is made up of an ensemble cast consisting of Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans, Rose Byrne, Michelle Yeoh, Cliff Curtis, Troy Garity, Hiroyuki Sanada, Benedict Wong, Chipo Chung, and Mark Strong.

I feel alot of the times music with vocals is ok and very pleasant.... but of course man or women singing may have alot of faults and they use their own minds which can be very earthly and ignorant... when people use just instruments i feel this is the only real music that counts

This song, sums up the whole meaning of the movie and the purpose of those brave people aboard Icarus II. Thier whole life's meaning, to save man-kind and all life on earth...Its a song that means something greater than what is comprehendable. Beautiful, masterful, soulful, theres nothing like it.
