The Greek government has voted in favour of a new round of austerity cuts - securing the next multi-billion instalement of cash from the EU and staving off a default. But furious protesters have reacted violently to the vote, with battles between police and demonstrators continuing just meters from Parliament. Scenes from downtown Athens resemble a warzone - as protesters fought with riot squads amid volleys of tear gas. Hundreds of thousands of people nationwide walked off their jobs for a two day strike against the austerity cuts. They say drowning the country in debt at crippling interest rates has failed once - and it'll fail again. @babouras84 I keep wondering about the same thing!But the ppl at the parliament are not starving or the ppl that support them! All of the other ppl...ppl like me ARE starving!But you can't just burn the damn thing with them inside?!At least no one does it!

@babouras84 Well THOSE Greek ppl that avoided taxes, i don't know any of them!!So that doesn't apply to all the Greek ppl! I never avoided taxes(unfortunately..i even payed for the extra tax they put on our bills this month), I never voted for them, so i never had help from anyone to find a job( i guess that's why i'm still unemployed)! I agree about the silent part!I wish they did sth back then but i guess they never saw that coming!

Yes it is. The greek government is paying loans since 1831 and has continuously getting more loans to pay the old ones even though in its history She has claimed bankruptcy numerous times.
Now tell me how 2 families that brought destruction to this country were keep getting elected since 1981.
2 options. Sell Greek sovereignty to the bankers and starve like a slave or return to the drachma and starve with freedom

Its the fault of the greek people because they based their voting decisions on rousfeti and if they find a job in the public sector.

@babouras84 When you clearly have no idea what's going on and you think that all this is Greek people's fault just don't even comment!People outside Greece think that we had so much money and luxuries all those years and that's why we have to pay now!When this is not true...SOME people earned (stole) a lot of money...and the only ppl who benefit from that was the government and the wealthy ppl...Not the middle class that now is starving and doesn't even have money for heating and no jobs...
