What do you mean by darkened flowers? You were not suppose to have anything after your surgery. Not even antibiotics are necessary if your hernia was uncomplicated. It's a very simple elective surgery. You don't need belt, they don't help at all.Tthey are sometimes used in patients that are not elegible for surgery. Get information with your doctor. Coz if he didn't used the Shouldice or Lichtenstein the recurrance rate is high. The trials have proven that.

@Fernandohayabusa
No, I live in Santiago (Chile). The doctor told me that this is the best option. Yet, I had some internal bleeding, which darkened my "flowers" and was prescribed bedrest and "Papenzima" (=10.000UWC Papain enzymes) 3x daily. As a precaution I bought myself a hernia belt support.

@klemens3333 Probably he used the Shouldice technique, but it's hard to find surgeons that use this one. Do you live in Canada? It is where it was invented and there are the onee who use it. It has low recurrence rate, lower than Bassini. So the prefered are the ones using Lichtenstein (mesh), rejections are really rare nowadays.

I just had my ing. hernia repaired. The surgeon did not use mesh (rejection fears). Biologically made meshes are expensive. He repaired my hernia by attaching it to the muscle. I didn't quite follow what he meant by that, how it is done or if it is effective?

I love how it says "A simple cut will be made in your groin", LOL, that doesn't sound simple to me!
