Toronto Transit Commission's brand-new buses hit the streets! The TTC is taking delivery of these new 2007 Orion VII, numbered from 8000-8099. They are powered by Cummins ISL, with a transmission of Allison B400R. This bus is the first in the 8000 series of Orion VII.

And please, no more bashing of Orion buses. I could care less if you hate them.

  • Why do some of the Orion VII have a different engine sounds. For Example the 88 South Leaside is different from those same buses running in the West or North End. Like why do they sound different.

  • They have different engines. Look at the fleet numbers the next time you see them - the 7900/8000s are louder than the 7400-7881 series.

  • Yeah but why did toronto do that.

  • Engine provider for 7400-7881 was unable to bring the engine up to grade with emissions standards, so TTC had to switch engines on new buses
