Since 2004 Thailand has seen an upswing in violence in its troubled south, where sporadic fighting between security forces and insurgents has killed close to 4,000 people. The clashes seemed to be slowing down until June when a massacre at a mosque renewed tensions between ethnic Thai Buddhists and Malay Muslims. VOA's Daniel Schearf reports from Narathiwat and Pattani provinces in southern Thailand.
The caption reads tension between muslims and Bhuddists, but all I see is muslim aggression. Is there any report of a Bhudist killing a muslim? Can't see that happenin!

Show some proof? The massacre of Armenians were never a nationalist motive but a religious motive since it was an hardcore islamic caliphate who dominated at that time ( Ottoman) The christian Armenians were seen as traitors hence a full ethnic cleansing of Armenians took place. Same happened in darfur when the blacks revolted for their rights, the arab hired a national millitia to massacre christians and black muslims as seen inferior. So when did Buddhist invade muslim lands?

The teachers were target of the attck. The terrorists refuse education for children because they will lose their control. They fired schools!
With some politicians's support, it allows some schools to not teach in Thai langauge. That's the way they control the followers.
I have a lot of good Islam friends too. It's the problem of people who want power and wealth under the name of Islam.

@GrandmasterTigerfist dude, does it turns better? so if i kill someone in the name of buddhism, or to kill someone because hating that the person is muslim, where is the difference? its a crime and YOU claimed buddhist dont invade nations and dont commit crimes and this is a lie. and who told you that the massacres against armenians was in the name of islam? it was in the name of nationalism. buddhist are humans, they invaded each other, invaded muslim lands, enslaved others. get some edu

Dude ou dont have any solid grounds to blame Buddhism for the wars because no war have ever been faught under the banner of Buddhism unless people have fought it for their own political intrests. The ottoman caliphate fought and killed under the islamic banner and did many britalities on Armenians and Bulgarians. Buddhists never conquered any other lands ad Muslims invaded Constantinople which was a christian.

Bose was not Buddhist, and japanese did for their nationalist causes and not Buddhist, this is wahabi propoganda against Buddhists that they massacred muslims in burma in reality Buddhists lived under the same harsh conditions thats why the mass movement against the Burmese govt took place. Aan san su kyi is a Buddhist-

@GrandmasterTigerfist dude, bose joined the japanese, ignoring that the japanese massacred the chinse, raped korea and so on. so stop bullshiting. bose was hanged by the british. i dont even judge him, he just wanted to free himself. the enemy of my enemy is my friend- the old motto of many leaders during those days. so there were priest who protested against the burmese leaders, and there were monks who pillaged muslim goods, massacred people the mob stlye. thats the point
