The most senior US official to visit Myanmar for 14 years held talks with pro-democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi Wednesday after the ruling junta granted the Nobel laureate a rare break from detention. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell also met Myanmar's prime minister as the administration of President Barack Obama seeks a new era of engagement with the military regime.
