1 steel armature (kicker) I built using ball and socket joints from helping hands soldering tool. I lathed the ends (ball) of some of the rods using a dremel tool and a drill. It works great. The unfinished puppet (kickee) has eye screw joints and was my first attempt at articulated joint armature. Foam wrap with latex build up on him. He's rough but it works. I'm going to try making my own ball & socket armature using flat brass and brass rod next, along with my "lathe" (dremel and drill)

  • where did you get the joints, or how did you make 'em?

    plz tell me..

  • I thought I replied to this.

See the "more info" link upper right.

It tels you where and how I made them.

  • Nice armatures :) Well built.

  • thanks. The steel one is ball and socket and far exceeds the wire/screw-eye joints one as far as functionality, range of motion etc.

I'm learning as I go with this and its fun building them out.
