Of course I've done my research. government medicine is MISERABLE and subjects people to misery and poverty.
It is the government that is greedy. It is the government that removes the incentive for people to take care of themselves and incentivizes irresponsibility.

No, it is representative of the problems that occur whenever government forces its way into the healthcare business and destroys the incentives for proper responsible behavior. It is representative of why capitalism is always superior to government interference in healthcare.

@herbs814 Have you done research on universal healthcare and private enterprise healthcare to come to that conclusion? Are you just dismissing it because of this story or being anti-government? Yes government is a problem, by a capitalist society is worried about profit and greed, this is one reason why people are uninsured. People need to take better care of themselves. Man made insurance programs will always come up short and fail whether it is public or private based.

@onebluestone How about the state of health care in countries with socialized coverage? Many more die. In North Korea, people are forced to undergo operations without anesthesia (even with serious procedures like amputations). In Cuba, there is a huge medical "black market" where people illegally pay for quality care, and many government paid doctors refuse to give sufficient care unless the patient pays. In Canada, it is nearly impossible to get medical attention without paying.

"universal" healthcare is the WORST. Government intrusion is the cause of all economic problems. Government is what causes all of the problems in healthcare. Government will never, and can never, be the solution. Government is always the problem. Capitalism is always the solution.

ZERO people die because they don't have health insurance. ZERO.
The government already denies care at TWICE the rate of private insurers... and Obamacare would only make the problem worse.
-
Next time need medical care, I'll pay for you a 1-way ticket to Cuba.

So we punish people that have worked hard to make something out of themselves by taking their money and giving it to lazy slobs? I know people that don't have healthcare, but they have expensive houses, expensive cars, big screen tv's, etc.-shouild they get free health care because they buy things they want instead of things they need?
-
or we could pay for it by pulling our troops out of wars that the majority of americans (and citizens of those countries, and citizens of every other country) are against. the top 1% of the population makes an average 840,000 dollars a year after taxes... THATS how we pay for it
-
We are already paying for healthcare, more than other countries with universal healthcare.
How about 18,000 people who die every year because they don't have health insurance?
To me, it is very troubling that medical bill is the number one reason for bankruptcy.
I have heard far more horror stories where insurance companies manipulate the system to extort the policyholders denying vital cares.

this has nothing to do with state run healthcare. this has to do with a SPECIFIC hospital with SPECIFIC problems.
