how do you like the screw in magnifier that comes with it?  its not something that will scare me away from this red dot im just curious

@BUCKrub91 It's good, but I think it kind of takes away the benefits of having a red dot. They're supposed to be point and shoot, no thinking about crosshairs or eye relief or whatever. If you need magnification, I would get either a low power scope or get the magnifier that hooks up to the picatinny rail and sits behind the red-dot. I can shoot this 100 yards no problem whatsoever though, and 100 yards is actually a pretty long way.

Nice review. I had a strikefire on my old bcm m4 but I think I had a defective one because the dot never looked like that,it was more a blotchy blob. I replaced it with an aimpoint pro. If my strikefire worked like yours I would have kept it.

@BoDuke2882 Oh man, what sucks is that all you had to do was send it to them and they would give you a new one. They have the best warranty in the business. Even if you break it due to your own stupidity they would replace it.

@MrElysium85 Looks like a great gun, never heard of Merkel before. Hey, I'm of Norweigan descent, my great grandfather and his family came to America on a boat from Oslo. Tell me, what's the firearms situation in Norway?

@303Jeff Ill usually shoot 100 yards so I dont really need a magnifier just was curious about it because I like options

I have plenty of scopes to run for longer range fun

@303Jeff its a good handling carbine for sure, Merkel is german manufacture, The SR1 mekanism is made by HK, almost identical with Hk-G36 :-) I have by the way relatives in south Dakota, imigrants too:) The government talks about making automatic rifles (maybe even auto-shotguns) illigal to buy.. the permissions on autorifles was stopped 2 days after the utøya massacre. I live just a few km from utøya, so it was to close for comfort...
