Hi! Love Paulinho da Viola, discovered him just some weeks ago, cause I'm in France where those artists are known only by the persons that are REALLY interested by the Brazil & its music!Just Yesterday, I was in a Cafe & we were talking about music, we were only 2 to know Edu Lobo!I told to the others that they don't know what they loose!!Can someone tell me if this little "violao" got a special name or not?Thanks for advance!5* for this video!!

Hi lorenzino1 , this little "violão" is called "cavaquinho", it is mainly used in "Choro", "Samba" and "Pagode" (Brazilian's music style)

As I said,I was asking myself if it was a 6 strings small "guitar",or no?And I've heard about a 10 nylon strings guitar in Brazilian music,like I've heard the "cuica" many times, but when I've decided to buy a cuica,I've never found one here in France!It seem to be difficult to play cuica,but I wanted to try to play some with the band I'm playing with,playing Jobim, C.Lyra,E.Lobo,& particularly DJavan cause of me that love his music!The more you can tell me,the best it'll be,if you got time,THKS

Hi, fst it isn't a 6 strings it's 4 strings (D-B-G-D), i've been trying do learn it, but I dont have the gift. Nowadays Braz music have been mixed, u know, diferent styles 2gether, & musical instruments like "cuica" are in MPB, although it's from "Old Samba & Enredo (like in Carnaval)".
