I've been listening to Dr. Laura for 15+ years and she's expressed herself this way OFTEN. This is not an exception. People who criticize her are generally people who are intolerant, close-minded and unwilling to accept that maybe, just maybe, having values might be a good thing. You don't have to agree with everything she says but just be open minded enough to at least listen. The people that disgust me the most are the ones who publicly attack her son. Talk about tacky.

Women aren't necessarily caring and loving. I thought my mom was kind because she called me 'sweetheart" and didn't hurt me like my dad hurt me. But my mom didn't protect me from my father who was a beast. She smiled and swanned around...and me and my sisters lived in fear. He never hit my mother; only us. He kicked my baby sister in the stomach and then took her picture when she was crying. My mother cried later on when he cheated on her; but no tears for her daughters.
