Not to be nitpicky but a show like this should get the aviation terminology correct...its runway "three-five left", not "thirty-five-L". Sorry just bugged me the whole episode.
Loved the episode otherwise. Thanks for the high quality up!

@maydayseason11 Just a bit of correction.. Airbus flight controls is called as Sidestick not Joystick..
IMO, The PIC in that flight forgot the correct procedure of one active reverser.

Brazilian gov't cover-up blaming the Captain for a runway without water displacement measures and an Airport situated in an area no longer safe for use
-
You can land a 747 in this airport even in heavy wet condition (not allowed, but totally possible). You cant land a small plane under full throttle. Crass mistake.

@AbdullaDXB Actually is Dias (Portuguese = S, Spanish = Z)
-
@TheBaconisbetter You know what, I noticed it too :)
-
@rafaelblk182 You are forgetting the heavy wind and rain that would slow the aircraft, hence more thrust would compensate for that. Though I do not see why full thrust was required.
-
Maybe the right throttle lever was in auto-throttle mode (airbuses have it at around 87% thrust) therefore explaining why the right engine spooled up while the pilots were trying to slow the plane down. But i don't know in an Airbus, if one lever is at idle while the other is at the auto-thrust setting.

Why did the pilot set the throttle N2 full just before touch the runway?? If he had forget it, should be at 34% or 41% at maximum, not at FULL POWER!!!! Why the throttle was so increased when it normally stands around 40 % considering the configuration of ILS landing with the flap full and the landing gear down. No explains...
If the pilot had ignored the N2 power in the normal landing situation, the airplane would have stoped into the scape area.
N2 100%??????? NO ONE USES IT GENERALY...

It doesnt matter. Its a pilot error and thats that.

@Sosalx I agree. This is the strangest scenario I've seen since I started to follow them. It just doesn't add up: The Captain is so intense about getting the most runway length and the lack of one reverser that he neglects to retard an engine on landing? It's natural to use throttles simultaneously. I think they could have looked deeper at the linkage issue.
A missed approach? Would've been some nightmare go around. But maybe...
How is it that this Airbus doesn't have a control stick? I know it has another joystick-like stick, but isn't there 2 ways to control it? The joystick AND the control stick?

@VidAlienX The joytick type stick is what is fitted on the newer planes. And it's usually either the control column or the joytstick. Even the Airbus A380 has the joystick type control column, which supposedly is advantageous because it's offset to the side rather than the center like the traditional control column.
