(April 13, 2013) Under the direction of Jesse Rodin, the vocal ensemble Cut Circle (cutcircle.com) will join Stanford students in performing a concert of late works by Josquin des Prez (ca. 1450--1521). The singers will gather around a newly commissioned replica of a 15th-c. music lectern to sing Inviolata, Preter rerum seriem, the Missa Sine nomine, and other astonishingly beautiful pieces. Their performances will be accompanied by "simulcast musical analyses"--real-time visualizations of musical features that represent the fruits of a collaboration with Ge Wang (CCRMA).
