**smiles a bit** True, though. What type do you practice? Just curious, I ain't meanin' to break you down or anything. I don't follow any one type (that I know of, I'm pretty novice myself) but after a solid year of doing it I've definitely noticed an improvement to my overall condition, mentally and physically.
Well, if it isn't about "yoga" as it pertains to the dissolving of the self into the shapeless atman, then it isn't yoga. It's been years since my post; despite this hatha yoga trend becoming more of a saddening epidemic since then, my words still stand.
Hatha fosters too much of an attachment to the flesh. It's the lowest and most misunderstood of the various strains of yoga; most times authentic gurus fail to even regard it as effective for unifying the mind with the source.

Yeah, yeah. Hatha yoga is useless. If I wanted gymastics, I'd join a gym. Until then I'll stick with real yoga -- yoga meant for piercing through the veil of maya, ultimately aligning and dissolving oneself into the atman. :)

@Proton1 Frankly, each type of yoga has it's advantages and though that may be your opinion, he probably has his own reasons for doing such.
