The presentation amalgamates the poem Emily Dickinsons I felt a Funeral in my Brain with the visuals through the intro of the track; then moves on to concentrate on the lyrics of the song. It then culminates the poem and visuals with the song giving the complete end product of the reaction to the text.
The text which looks like an exaggerated account of a headache speaks a lot more than that. The headache and the rituals of a funeral signify the death of her mind or reason, feeling alienated from emotions causing numbness. The only thing that gives her the sense of life is the pain.
The presentation explores the theme of Descent to Madness as a subject while the reaction sticks to the feeling of belonging to somewhere between life and death and rationality and irrationality. The reaction to probably nihilism of the poem is answered with absurdism.
Gorgeous... both the song and the poem. Great job- though, near the end of the poem the words seemed a bit awkward in their entrance and exit compared to the smoothness of the rest of the video. If you were attempting to add emphasis, it may have been a good idea to wait until the last words of the poem to do the non-faded in entrance and exit. Otherwise, Everything was perfect.
