THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT HOW TO ROLL YOUR ANIMATION DRAWINGS (THE ANIMATION ON THE PAPER IS NOT IMPORTANT, THE ACTION OF THE HANDS IS).
Rolling is where you can see a succesion of your drawings moving on your light box. To do this place your drawings in "flipping order" (lowest number at the bottom)and interleave them between you thumb and fingers. About 5 drawings is best. Look at your first drawing first and then by using a rolling motion of the hand look at each drawing in succession.
I'M JUST SHARING SOME OLD FASIONED STUFF WITH YA!

i want to thank you for putting this up here, i'm a 16 year old wanna be animator, and in all the books on animation i've read it kept talking about the battles between flipping and rolling to see your action, and i had no idea what "rolling" was until i saw this.

  • were do u get the paper and peg bar

  • he is using a 'pegbar', this one has 3 pegs to keep the animation paper in place, (which has 3 holes in each sheet).

easier to get hold of two holed ready punched paper, or buy or borrow a small office paper two hole punch.you can get two pegged pegbars online or make your own from, nuts, dowling or pencil ends. there are tips on steves site,
