@Southernborn761 If you know anything about hammerhead they attack from the bottom of the ocean coming straight up. Now, to the comment that this video was staged. It's a compliment in it's absurdity. Shortly before the video we called the shark on his cell, told him we were going to hold a tarpon for him, and then asked him to chase him back to the boat for the money shot. I don't know that the shark is 15 foot exact but he is one big mother f..er!

@Southernborn761 First off, if you watch the video you will see that there is no time to break the line before the tarpon hit! If you listen to the audio it is clear that the hammerhead came out of nowhere and hit the tarpon at the same time snapping my line. This occurred at like 7 am on the second cast of the day on our first ever tarpon fishing trip. I had never caught a tarpon before and to be honest have swam quite a bit at that state park.

@smn475 Sure he had the chance to cut the line or free spool the tarpon. but why when he can get a so called cool video. Does anyone see a 15 foot hammerhead in this video? I dont. This is why i stop the video. before they got a free hit mark. Then move it past the free hit mark. then play it. it was just for youtube hits... people will put anything in a title just for umm 5 cents. but it does add up. over time. Now I have my title for my next video..

Nothing like holding the tarpon for the hammerhead to eat it. then yelling go buddy go. Dont get me wrong. Hammer heads will be eating tarpon forever. But there is this thing called free spool or flipping the bail open. just maybe to allow the tarpon to run away. but why do that when we can hold it for the hammerhead to eat it & WE can get it on video. Can you say STAGED just for the video. KARMA is a real mother.. get in the water. hold my hook. swim around. splash.play the part of the tarpon.
